| "An eye-catching and rare display box from the always enigmatic Shotwell Mfg. Co. is presented. On the lid of this two-part, 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" x 2 1/2" container, a large variety of the time's favorite cartoon characters are pictured, along with the terms of a blockbuster "Funny Face Prize Contest." (Interestingly, the characters - which include Felix the Cat, Little Orphan Annie, the Katzenjammer Kids, and others - are unaccompanied by syndicate copyrights as usually see... perhaps Shotwell was trying to operate under the radar, here?) The five-cent, 24 count box features wonderful graphics on the lid's five exterior panels. All of these surfaces remain amazingly sound, with spots of toning at various points and a couple of small scrapes at one end hardly diminishing its overall EX appearance."
