| This rare card is one in a series of 100 cards issued in Canada by the NEILSON Chocolate Company of Canada. One was inserted into each package of NEILSONS Chocolate Bars. They are listed as V64 in Burdick's American Card Catalogue, they are entitled "Movie Actors and Actress". Although no guide that I know of provides a date of issue, I have always assume it to be some time in the mid 1920's due to the film actors featured and most other cards issued by Neilson's were issued during this time with confirmed dates of issue. Each card features a sepia toned photographic image of a Silent Movie Actor or Actress. The front names the actor and the name of the film and studio they are playing in. The back of the card features advertising for Neilsons Chocolate Bars and also states that there are 100 cards in the series. The Card measures 2 1/2 inches by 1 3/8 inches approximately. | ||
