Issued by the national Chicle Co. of Toronto, Ontario Canada. The date for this series is unknown but is believed to have been sometime in the 1910-20s era. Burdick list the series as series V151 in his American Card Catalogue. The cards were Issued as an insert premium with the companies Cherry Ripe Chewing Gum. I speculate that their small size; making them easily lost or destroyed, probably played a part in their scarcity. The fronts of the card feature what appears to be a fairly accurate drawing of the uniforms of different soldiers of the British Empire and Commonwealth Nations regiments. The back features advertising for the company. The cards are not numbered and make no mention of how many were in the series in total. However I have come across 29 different in my years of collecting (it should be mentioned that I have only ever found 3 lots of these to purchase over 25 years of collecting,) The card measures 2 1/8 inches by 7/8 of an inch approximately.
