These fantastic PAPER TOY (also referred to as a Paper Doll or Card ) was issued by the WOOLSON SPICE CO. of Toledo Ohio as an insert premium in their brand of LION COFFEE. This series is listed as K33 in the American Card Catalogue. The set features one of the artist Palmer Cox's Brownie characters dressed in a costume. The die-cut toy consist of two separate pieces. The head and the body are separate pieces that are made to fit together, as you can imagine often the heads and bodies are either missing or mixed up with different bodies. The piece does feature a copyright date of 1898 at the bottom front of the Toy and identifies the lithographer of the piece as Thomas and Wylie company of New York. The piece measures 5 1/2 inches by 1 7/8 inches approximately at its tallest and widest points.
