This set of 36 OUR NAVY Bread cards and the album that they were to be collected in, issued by the KRUG’S FINE BAKERY PRODUCTS COMPANY of Brooklyn , Long Island, and Westchester New York. The series is listed in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue as series D62, Burdick does not provide a date for this series but I believe it to have been issued sometime between 1941-1942. Each card features a beautifully illustrated Image of a U.S. Navy War Ship done by the artist Fred J. Hoertz. Although I call these cards they are actually printed on paper stock rather than cardboard. The album had a matching space for the ship to be pasted. The child was supposed to match the ship on the card with the space in the album designated for it, and then paste the card into that space in the album. The album has a fairly detailed description of each of the ships providing such information as construction date, speed, weights and measurements, munitions ect. Each Card measures 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches approximately. The album measures 9 1/2 inches by 6 1/2 inches.
