| Issued by the American Tobacco Company as an insert premium in their Sovereign Cigarettes,. A fairly scarce series cards entitled , “Actresses (Embossed) ” and is designated as T453 in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue. Although I have not found a date of issue in any guide that I am aware of, I speculate that this series was issued some time between 1900 and 1910. The front of the card features a stunning photographic portrait of an unnamed Actress. These cards are also very unique in the fact that the figure of the actress is embossed creating a raised three dimensional look. While the back features advertising for Sovereign Cigarettes done in a very Art Nouveau style.
